Since we are all older and wiser, how many of you vote?  Does anyone vote in the primaries?

Now that I vote by mail I always vote.

Nope, it's completely "free."

When I first saw the title of this thread I was worried I would have to move this to the No Rules section, lol.

Feel free to plug your website.

I should really register again. I think I voted twice. Last time was 2008 I think. I didn't vote for the current pres.

we're building a wizard for registering to vote, filling out your application, and downloading free postage if your district requires it on our site in hopes of helping streamline the voting process.

In my county (Marion County, Oregon) we have "vote by mail". We can return our marked ballots one of two ways:

  • By dropping the ballot off at an official drop-off location. The ballot booklet has a two-page list of collection sites, one of which is at the closest grocery store to where I live. One can drop off a ballot as late as 8pm of the day of the election. No postage needed.
  • Return ballot by mail. Postage is required, and the ballot must be received by the County Clerk no later than the day of the election, so, if one is mailing back the ballot one has to make sure one mails it several days before Election Day so the County Clerk would receive it on time.

In both cases, signature is required on the official return envelope.

This is a lot nicer than when we had to line up at the designated polling location on the day of the election, during the hours the polling locations are open, which meant long lines at lunchtime and after work.
